When it is dark enough, you can see the stars. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Sitting on the bluff at night the stars are so clear in the sky. As I sit enjoying the sounds of summer it occurs to me that we all face adversity, loss, and, hard times. We have a choice. We can give up and give in to defeat or we can continue forward in our lives knowing there will be better times ahead. We can be like the stars in the night sky. What a perfect opportunity to look around and find the blessings! The light in the darkness. Blessings come in all shapes and sizes. They can range from a smile from a stranger to a visit from a good friend or family member. We still need time to wallow and feel sad for ourselves. This can be an essential part of any recovery. We just don’t need to stay in that place too long. And sometimes if we just teach ourselves to find the points of light and dwell upon those, no situation will be quite as dark. Do you need to see the lights in the dark? Come join me on the bluff where the light is abundant!
