I know you all have seen posts from Jose’ regarding our current fox situation. It happens every Spring and I’m pretty sure it’s because they have a den off the mountain with kits. Jose’ is doing his job to keep both the fox and coyotes at bay but the chickens don’t seem to understand that at least until the middle of May they need to stay put in the top paddock where Jose’ can keep an eye on them!!
When we lived in Georgia there were fox on the property, but I never knew what they sounded like until I moved here. It’s an odd noise, not really a bark, more like a horse kinda growl. I heard at least one really early this morning probably in our back yard based upon the way the dogs acted when I took them out. I think they try to get to the cat food that has gone uneaten at the end of the day.
