“.. only in the winter, in the country, can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor belonging to yourself. ~Ruth Stout
There is nothing like a warm winter afternoon perched high upon the roof to make one appreciate the beauty and solitude that stretches before us. The sunlight warming an ordinarily cold ground while showing us the stark beauty that will only too soon be covered in a blanket of fresh spring flowers, grass and leaves. It gives our eyes and mind the opportunity to appreciate each and every granite crevice and piece of bare earth in the valley and beyond. Winter, the time to rest and rejuvenate in preparation for the party that is spring.
