Carpenter Bees

Carpenter Bees. There are traps everywhere to kill them. Did you ever stop to think that much like all other animals and insects on this planet they serve a purpose? They are everywhere here but I have decided to let them bee (pun intended)! They are great pollinators of the plants that we need to survive. Many will argue that their burrowing into wood structures causes damage, however their tunnels are so shallow that they don’t really cause any damage. When we were young my Grandmother and Mom taught us that the bees with yellow faces don’t sting. We spent many summers going from flower to flower catching them to see who could catch the most!! A tradition I handed down to my boys and am now handing down to my grandson! That, along with the fact that nature needs to be nature!
