Hillbilly Biscuits Recipe

Have you noticed how food choices change with the seasons? Lots of salads and fruits in the summer, heartier stews and root vegetables in the fall and winter. For us, its Strawberry Cheesecake French toast for spring and summer and Apple French toast for fall and winter. We do however have a couple of heartier breakfasts that we serve year round. The most popular is the Hillbilly Biscuits. Given to me by one of our guests, it is the one that I cannot resist! Top it with some homemade pepper jelly and you have a mouth watering combo that cannot be turned down!

Here’s the recipe, but if you want to have it made for you, head on up to Leesburg and let me do the work for you.

Hillbilly Biscuits

2 containers of crescent rolls
1 roll of sausage, any flavor
1 8 oz bar of cream cheese
1 cup shredded cheese, any type
Place 1 container of crescent rolls in the bottom of a greased 8.5 x 11.5 baking dish. Brown sausage and drain. Combine sausage and cream cheese in warm skillet or small bowl. You can microwave for about a minute to melt cheese together with sausage or just put skillet on low setting to combine. Place sausage mixture on top of crescent rolls. Top sausage mixture with 1 cup any type of shredded cheese. Place 2nd container of rolls on top. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.
