Jose’s Heavenly Haystacks

I like to eat.  No, that is not exactly right.  I love to eat.  I really enjoy yummy, fresh haystacks.  I enjoy haystacks so much that I am going to share a recipe for haystacks with you.  I must admit that the finished product doesn’t exactly look like the haystacks in my pasture, but Kris has assured me that you will enjoy these haystacks much more than the ones in my pasture.  Try the recipe and please let me know if you like them.  They do look quite delicious.

Jose’s Heavenly Haystacks

2 cups of sugar

½ cup milk

½ cup butter or margarine

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

½ teaspoon vanilla

3 cups rolled oats

Bring sugar, milk, butter/margarine, cocoa to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.  Remove from heat, add vanilla and oats.  Stir quickly to combine.  Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper to cool.  When cool, enjoy!
